Staying safe during the COVID-19 pandemic

"All human wisdom is contained in these two words—'Wait and hope.'” - Alexandre Dumas

And so, humans around the world wait together and live a temporarily adjusted version of their lives.

First off, we would like to encourage you not to panic and always stay informed of the latest developments during this outbreak. Turning to reliable sources at this time is of the highest importance. Here’s a link to the World Health Organization’s Advice for the Public which is a great resource for the latest findings as this pandemic evolves and hopefully, dissolves. Always remember, knowledge is power. Oh, and also to wash your hands!

Here's a couple of important things to remember:

• Stay updated on the measures being put in place by the local and national government and health agencies throughout and follow the instructions given to the public. These measures are in the interest of the public’s health and that includes you.

• Curfews and Section 144 or not, stay away from crowded areas, especially closed areas. In a time where social distancing and self quarantining is being encouraged worldwide, it is essential that we keep ourselves away from areas that are frequented by large crowds. That includes, places of worship, supermarkets, local market, nightclubs, festivals, sports and event venues, public facilities etc. And when we do go out, and only if we absolutely should, we must exercise precaution at all times. However, we encourage you to stay home as directed and reduce any risks of you being exposed and subsequently, those around you, through you.

Lastly, don’t forget, we are all in this together. Our safety ensures the safety of others as well. Let’s continue to be cautious and patient, so we can soon return to our lives virus-free!
